IBTM Wired, a new virtual event for the MICE industry, is being added to Reed Exhibition’s portfolio of MICE shows.

Debuting June 28 to July 1, 2021, IBTM Wired will complement Reed’s face-to-face shows— IBTM World (November 3-December 2, 2021 in Barcelona), IBTM Americas (August 18-19, 2021 in Mexico City), and IBTM Asia Pacific (April 5-6, 2022 in Singapore)—as well as its online resource hub, IBTM Connect, which launched last year, and IBTM TV.

“I’m really excited about IBTM Wired,” said Claude Blanc, IBTM Events Portfolio Director, Reed Exhibitions. “We hope it will provide high value to all the members of the IBTM community and provide them with the connections they need to grow and succeed in the business events industry.”

IBTM Wired will unite professionals from across the world for four days of one-to-one business meetings, networking sessions, and a program of live and on-demand education sessions curated by sector, skillset, and geographic location that will Engage, Educate, Excite and Evolve participants’ skillsets.

The event platform, built by Sector Global, will be open 24 hours a day for the event’s duration so that the global community can tailor their schedule to their time zone. During the event, attendees will embark on a virtual world tour. Each day will provide key insights into a region, from industry outlooks to expert opinions that will help professionals discover new opportunities, expand their areas of focus, and get the latest information on each region’s recovery. The schedule is as follows:

  • Asia Pacific (June 28) IBTM has partnered with SACEOS (Singapore Association for Convention & Exhibition Organizers & Suppliers) to create SMF X IBTM Wired, which will see this year’s hybrid Singapore MICE Forum (SMF) integrated into the program for IBTM Wired with an education program that focuses on new ways of community engagement, design thinking and innovation.
  • North and South America (June 29) when the education program will delve into how to deliver quality experiences and premium service.
  • Middle East and Africa (June 30) with education sessions focusing on networking, data and analysis, and energy.
  • Europe (July 1) when the sessions will explore power and success within learning and development.

IBTM TV, which launched at IBTM World Virtual 2020, will run a program of live and on-demand education sessions that will provide valuable learning experiences, inspirational ideas and the sharing of best practices giving professionals the key tools they need for the next chapter in meetings and events. IBTM Wired has partnered with some of the leading international industry associations, visionaries and thought leaders to create a truly global four days of education. There will even be an IBTM Global World Tour playlist to add to the ambience.

“While there’s huge demand for face-to-face events and we look forward to their return, it’s clear the there is a long-term place for high-quality online meetings, said event manager Michael Jones, “IBTM Wired will tap into the desire for year-round connections and will be a valuable and easily accessible touchpoint for existing and new customers from all over the globe who are looking to do business and network with their peers.”

Jones continued: “IBTM Wired will use the same intuitive purpose-built platform as our successful IBTM World Virtual 2020. The platform delivers an industry-leading experience for customers, delivering for them unrivalled business opportunities with a global network of event planners, destinations and suppliers in a cost-effective and time-efficient way.”
