Located on the soft sands of Matapalo Beach, Costa Rica, the new Splash Water World at the RIU Guanacaste and the Hotel RIU Palace is the most recent addition to the two properties providing 2020 some needed fun and excitement.

The RIU started offering more dynamic activities for a greater number of participants in addition to creating exclusive spaces for those clients who are looking for more adrenaline and fun during their vacations and incentive travel. The waterpark includes five slides of different speeds, such as the aquaracer, a four-lane slide, and two body bowl tubes.

Clients visiting the resort’s conference facilities can let loose and bond over the rush of sliding at top speeds. “The RIU complex wanted to offer our guests a new experience to have fun. It was in response to our commitment to expand the property’s leisure activities and is highly suitable to enhance team building,” said a RIU’s spokesperson.

There are five modern, fully-equipped conference rooms onsite, allowing planners to hold professional meetings or conferences with a range of available audio-visual and food and beverage services.

The new waterpark has no additional cost for resort-goers of either property as it is part of the chain’s “All Inclusive 24 Hours” program. It is located at the entrance of the RIU complex in Guanacaste, so that it is easily accessible for customers. There is a separate pool in the waterpark for all ages to slide and play games with jets and water guns. Shaded areas, a beverage station, bathrooms along with lounge chair seating and regular table seating can be used to keep up discussions.

On an aside, due to current times, those curious should know that the RIU has effective security and hygiene protocols in place to address COVID-19. They launched a comprehensive manual of 17 protocols developed by RIU professionals in collaboration with the specialist consultancy firm Preverisk. The manual will be shared with the whole industry through a partnership called the Post-Covid19 Hospitality Sector Alliance.
